Pumori, the beautiful mountain of the Everest Region

Submitted by Radek on Fri, 06/07/2019 - 16:04

To me, the beautiful Pumori (7161m) can easily rival famous Ama Dablam, which is often considered the most beautiful mountain of the Everest Region. I saw the mountain from a number of view-points, which I described in my "Everest: A trekker's guide" published by Cicerone Press, from different angles, at variuos time of the day, in spring and in autumn. Here are some photos of the mountain published on my Instagram profile.

Pumori in #BlackAndWhite seen from a place on a moraine above the Ama Dablam #BaseCamp of the #EverestRegion. The place is not en-route between #Lukla and the #EverestBaseCamp but it is near to the main #trekking trail and it is worth a visit – it has been described (among others fantastic #viewpoints) in my @ciceronepress “Everest: A trekker’s guide” #book. Pumori (7161m) is in my #TopicOfTheWeek now. It is located in the #Himalayas, near to #Everest, in the #Sagarmatha #NationalPark – the #UNESCO #WorldHeritageSite in Solukhumbu, #Nepal. This photo was #MadeWithCanon, with #CanonEOS and #CanonLens in late November 2016. #BW #BWphotography #LandscapeInBW #LandscapePhotography #Landscape #mountains

Pumori (7161m) seen from Chukhung Ri. The mountain is in my #TopicOfTheWeek now. To me, it is one of the famous beautiful mountains in the #EverestRegion of #Nepal. The name Pumori means “Daughter Peak” in the #Tibetan language and the name was given by George Mallory. Chukhung Ri is a mountain (5550m) available to trekkers, situated in the Imja Khola valley of the #Sagarmatha #NationalPark, just in front of the famous #Lhotse South Face. It is a fantastic viewpoint, although #Everest can not be seen from here. I have described the route to its top in my “Everest: A trekker’s guide” #guidebook published by @ciceronepress. #UNESCO #WorldHeritageSite, #Solukhumbu, #VisitNepal2020
